Having been brought up on a strict diet of ZZ Top, Alexis Korner, Robert Cray and Ry Cooder, Blues music has always been an integral part of my life. None more so than when picking up a bass guitar at the age of 13 and the first thing I learnt was walking 12 bar blues bassline. I have since been playing in rock and Blues bands in a number of guises. From power blues trio 'Syncrownized' funk and soul band ‘Funktion' right upon to present where alongside Paul Winn I provide the low notes for DC Blues (formerly the Dead Cats).

I have been co presenting 'Blues from the Ouse with Paul Winn & Ben Darwin’ on Jorvik radio providing album reviews and contributing to a relaxed feel to the show, where 2 mates chat about and play the music they both love and have been passionate about for many years.

My passion for new music in the Blues genre means we make a conscious effort to promote and play bands at grass roots levels in order to ensure that this music will continue for years to come.
