I suppose I have been into the Blues since growing up as a teenager in the late 60’s and early 70’s.There was so much great music to come out in those two decades. Although I gravitated towards rock music, it was always artists like Eric Clapton, Rory Gallagher, Robin Trower and Jimi Hendrix and bands such as Free, The Rolling Stones, Savoy Brown, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers that really excited me.

As I have got older I have realised Blues music is really what makes me happy. Whilst I spend a lot of time listening to music, my real passion is live music and I am lucky the UK Blues scene is awash with great talent. Over the last few years I have seen the emergence of so many new young bands and they are helping to draw in a new generation of people who are interested in Blues music, long may that continue.

I started presenting my Blues show in 2022 and what started as one hour show has now developed into a 2 hour show on Real Rock Radio. I get to listen to even more music and discover even more bands as a result and my passion for music is greater than it has ever been. It’s hard work but I’m there every week keen to keep on producing my show and help to keep the blues alive.
