Llew. has been interested in blues music since first hearing skiffle music and rock n roll in the 50’s which introduced him to the greats like Sonny Boy Williamson, Robert Johnson and Leadbelly.
He started broadcasting at around age 16/17 on hospital radio and stayed with hospital radio for 25 years. He also had a mobile disco playing soul music in the late 60’s early 70’s. His musical taste varies from Blues to Classical.
For the last 5 years he has presented a Blues Soul Country and Rock & Roll programme (now 70% blues) every Tuesday evening 6pm-8pm on Radio Warrington which is a great community radio station with listeners worldwide. The programme covers early blues and rock and roll through to modern blues music. He includes features such as ‘crackle time’ where he plays very old blues tracks, ‘double take’ which is the same song by two different artists and always has a CD of the month from which he plays 2 tracks each week.
Local artists from the North West are regularly featured.
