'Uncle' Tony Haynes is on his second childhood. A veteran specialist music presenter from Chiltern Radio (Herts/Beds/Bucks/Northants and Cambs) and Horizon Radio (Milton Keynes), he arrived by narrow boat in York in 2009, and fell off it into the river Derwent. He's been slightly soggy ever since.

Known for half a century in the folk and blues world as a festival and club organiser, singer/songwriter, autoharpist and hairy boater, 'Yer Big Uncle Tone' spent 12 years in the Royal Navy, then 30 years as a trucker before becoming a friendly trip boat operator dahn sarf. He picked up many friends, songs, scars and his whippet, Sophie, along the way.

FAB Folk and Blues show is definitely different. He concentrates on local performers and venues in West, North and East Yorkshire, visiting artists and anyone who he thinks deserves a live break on radio. He also brings us the historical and the hysterical, the great and the unknown, the professional and the DIY of local folk and blues. He loves to feature artists live on air and to explore their experiences. Tony doesn't stand on ceremony. It isn't quite 'anarchy on the airwaves', but his shows are never ever predictable. Anything can happen and often does. They are never scripted and very seldom pre-recorded.

Big Tone and his FAB Folk and Blues show come to life on Temp 107.4FM in the Lower Wharf Valley and online at tempofm.co.uk every Wednesday 8-10pm.

Soon to come too, Jorvik FM in York.
